Seasons of a family
King Solomon, the wisest man who ever lived, wrote in his book, Ecclesiastes:
"For everything there is a season"
This rings true for so many things and nothing more so than with family. Seasons of a family is a photographic body aimed at being a celebration, not only through the passing of our years marked by the change in the weather and surrounding environments, but in all the comings and goings families can experience.
The seasons of a family can be many and can mark such cherished times yet, they can also be fragrant of challenging ones too. Whilst we are guided by the ecological patterns that happen all about us, the ebbs and flows between seasons of change and life, intensifies and strengthens the foundations upon which families are grounded. This is what helps shape the direction this 5-way photographic partnership presents.
If all intent and purposes were pitched at its simplest, then this project would be to document how families move through seasonal shifts; adapting, nurturing, smiling, surviving and thriving throughout them.
But, come what may, the binding verity is that whatever is faced, is faced together, lived out together, and in whatever emotion best suites.
This is what family is, and does and what is hopefully captured.
